DEAR HANK GREEN:

qurly-hair:

I started watching vlogbrothers in 2008, so I’ve kept up with listening to all your songs and reading all of John’s books and always checking your side channels. Naturally, when the idea for crashcourse was announced, I was extremely excited to see what the videos would be like. I was so impressed by all the jokes and clever segments and fantastic graphics. I instantly fell in love with the channel and how I could learn from it.

My chemistry teacher is the type of teacher who puts notes up on the board without explaining them, which makes me that annoying kid who asks ten million questions in order to get a clue of what’s going on. It may be an annoying learning strategy, but it’s made me one of very very few who can actually take some knowledge from the class. When covalent bonds and electron shells were first written about on the board in chemistry class, I immediately remembered your crashcourse video “That’s Why Carbon Is a Tramp”.

Students are always looking to understand what’s happening in the class, and for once I decided not to ask questions (the class was probably really happy about that). Instead, I mentioned I knew of a YouTube video that could help the class out. I linked the teacher to crashcourse’s channel, which she thoroughly enjoyed, and she permitted me to show “That’s Why Carbon Is a Tramp” to the class. Everyone seemed to love it, they laughed and quoted the video the whole class! My best nerdfighter friend, Gabby, and I couldn’t stop smiling because we had successfully introduced your epicness into the classroom.

We were crazy happy because we had made it so that an entire class lesson was based off of one of our favorite people, you, and people were actually learning and laughing. You and your videos have affected both Gabby and I so much and we really wanted you to know how much they’ve accomplished. You may have made it so that our entire chemistry class might pass a quiz, for once. Thank you so much for everything.

Love two huge fans of all you create, Krissy and Gabby.  I, (Krissy), am the curly haired girl making the DFTBA sign, and Gabby is the one making the goofy face right before the video was about to be shown in class :)
